A Legacy Worth Preserving
There’s something sacred about shaping metal by hand. About bringing a vintage Porsche back to life. About hearing an engine turn over for the first time in decades.
But these moments — this level of craftsmanship — is at risk of fading away.
At Motovator Coffee, we’re not just obsessed with quality in the cup. We come from the world of high-level automotive restoration and custom car building. And we believe the future of that world depends on the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
The Skilled Trades Gap in Automotive - A Shrinking Talent Pool
In recent years, the automotive industry — especially the restoration and custom side — has seen a steady decline in new talent entering skilled trades.
From metal shapers and machinists to upholsterers and engine builders, many of the best craftspeople are nearing retirement. And fewer young people are being introduced to the kind of hands-on work that powers this industry.
Not Just a Labor Problem
This isn’t just about staffing shops. It’s about preserving a culture. A history. An art form.
Cars aren’t just machines — they’re stories. And if we don’t pass down the knowledge, the stories get lost.
Why It Matters to Us
Motovator was built in the garage — literally.
We’ve spent years restoring some of the rarest, most beautiful cars in the world. We’ve worked with our hands, sweated over panels, and polished trim to perfection.
We’ve also trained younger techs, mentored interns, and seen firsthand what happens when someone gets that first spark — the moment they fall in love with the craft.
Our coffee fuels those moments.
And our brand exists to protect and promote them.
Our Mission: Fuel the Future of Craft
We’re committed to supporting the next generation of automotive artisans.
Giving Back
Our goal is to give 25% of net profits toward organizations that fund education and training for young tradespeople in automotive.
We’re actively seeking partnerships with nonprofits like:
-
Hagerty’s RPM Foundation
-
SEMA
-
Piston Foundation
-
TechForce Foundation
-
Local shop apprenticeship programs and more
Whether it’s tools, tuition, or travel to competitions, we want our coffee sales to directly support these young builders.
Raising Awareness
There’s a stigma around the trades — like they’re a fallback instead of a calling.
We’re using our platform to change that.
Our blog, email, and future videos will highlight:
-
Shop owners who are mentoring the next generation
-
Young builders doing incredible work
-
Stories of legacy — where craftsmanship meets mentorship
We want young people (and their parents) to see this path not just as viable, but vital.
Creating Real Opportunities
In the future, we aim to:
-
Sponsor scholarships for automotive trade schools
-
Collaborate with brands and builders aligned with our mission
This isn’t just philanthropy — it’s how we build a stronger industry.
We want Motovator to be the brand that shops, schools, and students know has their back.
Why This Work Is Urgent
Are we approaching a point of no return? Maybe...
In high-level restoration, it takes years to master the tools, the language, the feel. If that knowledge is lost, it’s not easily rebuilt.
We need to act now to:
-
Capture mentorship before it retires
-
Create viable career paths for young people
-
Keep the heartbeat of automotive craft alive
Motovator is here for that — and we invite you to be part of it.
